Plastazote

This was a short 2 week project on making a Plastazote mask, I've had a small amount of experience with plastazote but here I learnt how to manipulate it properly. I made a leopard mask!
Toile out of card, making up the pattern pieces for the plasterzote
Havent got a picture of the side of the head but its made up of three pattern pieces with darts in to get the head to be rounded. The contact adhesive glue was a pain!!! the problem is it often takes so long to go off, and judging when it has gone off - it has to be perfect timing or it wont glue -. The trick is when it feels dry, its ready!
You can see in this picture Ive begun attempting to carve the nose...
Painting.......! had to prime it, then mix up latex and acrylic, meant to be more acrylic than latex, I think like 1:9
SPOTS .........also some ear fluff (feathers)..........i also cut into some Rigilene and used it as whiskers
miow
and me modelling my mask with a fellow mouse! I don't know what other people think when they look into the costume room and see us all in animal masks.......
